Halflab's Very Grown-Up Party – Saturday, May 25
HALFLAB (the House Around Lisa, (Neil)Fred, Louise, and Brandon) was born in 2001, so it's our 18th birthday! We're all grown up, woohoo!
Or rather, we're extremely mature adults now, and thus henceforth shall no longer utter such ridiculous terms as "woohoo". Accordingly, our wish is for you to kindly grant the favor of your presence on Saturday, May 25, in order that we may celebrate our coming of age in a formal and dignified manner.
Since we've put aside childish things, these festivities are not expected to feature board games, Rock Band, juggling, or other frivolities of youth(*). Instead, we'll use our inside voices for serious conversation on grown-up topics: taxes, mortgages, the good old days, aches and pains, and the weather. Playing bridge, golf, or shuffleboard are acceptable, but stay off our lawn!
Due to the momentous responsibilities of adulthood, our usual Low-Stress Potluck(**) has now become High-Stress. You can still choose whether or not to contribute, but either way, you should regret your life choices. However, keep your contributions age-appropriate and don't bring any chicken nuggets, Froot Loops, or juice boxes. From now on, we're sticking to Brussels sprouts, high fiber cereal, and prune juice.
