An Old Fashioned New Year's Eve at Halflab New Year's Eve calls for another old fashioned celebration at Halflab (the House Around Lisa, (Neil)Fred, Louise, And Brandon). As long as you're not off to Manhattan for the cosmopolitan experience of watching the ball drop, there's absolut-ly no reason to miss this party! Hop in a sidecar, board a Greyhound, or ride a mule over to raise a glass of bubbly with us. (Please note that bubbly and all party activities besides this invitation are available without alcohol.) A party like this only happens once in a blue moon, so don't miss your shot at attending by getting caught in a hurricane or a mudslide. Even if it's a dark and stormy night, we'll be gathering tequila few hours with conversation, games (pinot tail on the donkey, anyone?), and general (but hopefully not bloody!) merriment. We'd hear booze if we didn't have a Low-Stress Potluck(*), so jul-ep-preciate the return of this classic favorite. To gin up interest in potluck participation, we thought we'd sling around a few suggestions to mull over. Catch and cook a wild turkey, or whip up some eggs with one of those whisk-y utensils. For dessert, a cooler full of ice cream, a bag of lemon drops, or even a single malt ball will probably be more popular than fried grasshoppers. But maybe now we're just getting punch-y. A Halflab party is the last word in curing what ales you. We'd love to set a Guinness world record for attendance, but if you can't make it, que syrah, and try not to wine. After all, absinthe makes the heart grow fonder, and we'll find another op-port-unity to get together soon.
