Here At Last Finally: Longtime Annual Bash - December 31st at Halflab Hello there! Happy New Year! Here at HALFLAB -- the House Around Lisa, (Neil)Fred, Louise, And Brandon -- we are pleased to announce that once again we will be hosting a party on New Year's Eve. Hooray! Help us ring in the new year. Huzzah! All manner of excitement is in store. As usual, there will be musical video games (Rock Band 2, DDR, etc). Additionally, some folks may play board games (too many to list). And if you're not a gamer, you can be sure there will be plenty of sitting around on couches. Last but never least, food -- it's what's for dinner. (Literally.) Look for all manner of tasty treats. Light snacks, dinner-y foods, and of course desserts. Lots of desserts. Liquids also are key. Liquor, wine, beer, soft drinks, etc will all be in abundance. Low-Stress Potluck rules(*) apply, so be sure to comply. Fortunately, we also have other tricks up our sleeve. (Figuratively.) For example -- and this is just one example -- there's a good chance that juggling may spontaneously occur at some point. Fire juggling even, if there's interest and not rain. Let us know if you're coming, at rsvp(at)halflab(dot)com. Likelihood-based responses are encouraged. Last-minute decisions are of course always fine too, whether or not you RSVP. Look before you leap(**). Ask yourself, "Am I ready for 2009?" At the end of the day, it doesn't matter whether you're ready or not. All that matters at the end of the day is that the day is at its end. And the year. As it happens, in this case. As someone once said. At least, I think someone said something like that. At any rate, they would have said it if they'd thought of it. And thought it was worth saying. Ah well. Best not to dwell on such things. Better instead to look forward. Brightly and boldly, into the new year. But don't look directly at the sun. Because everyone knows... Blindness? Bad.
