Halflab's Sensational Fifth Birthday Party As you may have heard, HALFLAB -- the House Around Lisa, Fred, Louise, And Brandon -- is turning five, and we feel that a tasteful celebration of our fifth year is in order; the scent of a party is in the air, you see. So come on over to Halflab for the party to delight all of the senses. As always, we are all about the food and drink, so your tastebuds are certainly well-covered. And there will surely be folks playing board games, foosball, and/or Dance Dance Revolution, but you can always just watch if you prefer. Or just hang out and listen to the geeky chatter. We'll set up a fire-pit in the backyard, so you can go out and smell the cool spring night air. And, um, if you want to feel something other than the couch, you can always, uh, bang your head against the wall...? In any case, we think it would be sensible to reiterate the bit about the food -- we'd like to impart a sense of importance around taste. (Smell too, really, since they say much of what we think of as taste is actually smell.) So do have the good sense to bring snacky, dinnery, or drinky consumables. Or, you know, not. Because naturally, the usual Halflab Low-Stress Potluck(*) rules apply, and if there is any dissension on this matter, you may simply exclaim "Nonsense!" We don't mean to be insensitive to our guests possessing ESP, but we're going to go ahead and state outright that the festivities will commence around 4:00pm on Saturday, May 13, 2006, and will continue late into the night. Come by for any or all of it. And provided it's consensual, do bring along other folks of the proper sensibilities to enjoy such a sensational soiree. Of course common sense suggests that you might RSVP, but we certainly do not require it. We do note, however, that you will almost certainly prefer to save yourself the thirty-nine cents (and the unpleasant stamp flavor) by responding by email to us (at) halflab (dot) com rather than using the USPS.
