Happy New Half Decade Party Seems like just yesterday a new millennium began, and now we're halfway through it! Oh, no, wait, that's not right. It's just the decade that's halfway through. Also it doesn't really seem like yesterday that the millennium began, it seems like, I dunno, maybe about five years ago, I guess. Give or take. (For those who claim that since there was no year 0, we're really only 40% of the way through this decade, I'd like to point out the following facts: the year 1 wasn't even called the year 1 at the time, and it's probably a few years off of the actual birth of some dude called Jesus, so it's all pretty arbitrary anyway, and the idea that there was no year 0 is just dumb, because it makes no sense to say that the year -1 is the year that came before 1, even if you spell the minus sign with the letters "BC". So damn it, as far as I'm concerned, there was a year 0. Moreover, you can't do a simple wildcard filename search that gets exactly the files 2001 through 2010, so even if you insist on there being no year 0, I say, fine, then the first decade happens to only have had nine years in it.) Anyway, come celebrate New Year's Eve at Halflab. Show up any time after 7:00pm. Feel free to bring friends, sweeties, children, etc. There will be all manner of food, games, DDR, hot tub, etc, as usual. Since the timing of this party does not necessarily include dinner, we'll revert back to the old No-Stress Potluck(*) system -- but just this once, and next time we'll be back on the Low-Stress Potluck(*) that was imposed last time, so don't get too comfortable. (If you don't recall or never saw our past party invitations to which this paragraph refers, check the website, mentioned below.) Quick summary:
